34th Annual FEI/Drake Lecture Featuring Former GASB Chairman David Vaudt

The former Chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), David A. Vaudt, will be providing a free lecture for the campus and community that shares a reflection of his career in service and the important lessons learned along the way.

Traditionally this lecture has been held in Sheslow Auditorium of Drake University’s Old Main, but in an effort to promote the safety of all attendees during the ongoing COVID pandemic, we will offer this lecture virtually.

The presentation, “Reflecting on a Career of Service – Lots of Lessons Learned.” will be held on Thursday, November 5 at 7:00pm. Registration for this lecture is required via Event Bright (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/34th-annual-feidrake-lecture-featuring-former-gasb-chairman-david-vaudt-tickets-125974341647). Upon registration, further details will be provided via email to access this event.

David A. Vaudt recently completed a seven-year term as chairman of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.  Mr. Vaudt was appointed the GASB chairman after serving the previous 10 years as Iowa’s elected state auditor.  Prior to his election, Mr. Vaudt worked for 25 years in the Des Moines, Iowa office of KPMG LLP, including 13 years as an audit partner. Mr. Vaudt will share his experience transitioning between these roles, the challenges he encountered, and the lessons learned in the process.

The lecture is part of the Financial Executives International (FEI)-Drake Accounting Lecture series, an annual, free event organized by FEI and Drake University’s School of Accounting.
