Enjoy a unique interdisciplinary collaboration between art and music. Participants will move through the Anderson Gallery's exhibition Freehand: Drawings and Prints by Judy Pfaff, while Drake Opera and Drake chamber music students perform the world premiere of Cadence of Life. This opera was composed by Nathan Felix and inspired by the work of Judy Pfaff. Nathan Felix is a Mexican-American composer know for his immersive opera and experimental films. Felix's music has premiered in Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, Japan, China, Sweden, Denmark, Mongolia and the United States and has been featured on BBC, MTV, NPR, TPR and PBS. The opera will be conducted by Drake Opera Theater Director Isaiah Feken. Cadence of Life is supported by Friends of Drake Arts, Department of Music and the Anderson Gallery Endowment.
