Many individuals experience silent struggles, which can create further isolation and mental health concerns. The ENding the Silence program is sponsored by the National Association for Mental Illness to address and bring awareness to mental illness and eliminate its stigma. The Drake Counseling Center is partnerning with NAMI to host this event as a Poetry Slam and we encourage students to attend and share poetry centered on ending the silence and sharing hope for others that may struggle with mental illness.
