In 2023, the international community commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a landmark document offering a comprehensive vision of interconnected, indivisible human rights for all people, everywhere. Please join us for two campus events commemorating the UDHR’s 75 anniversary. These events are open to all members of the campus community.

On Monday December 4 (5:30-7:30 p.m.) in Cowles Library Reading Room, students enrolled in Professor DeLaet’s course on Racial Justice and Human Rights in the United States will share their final projects. Student projects include research posters, works of art, creative writing, and video compilations. There also will be a display of human rights posters sponsored by the Iowa United Nations Association. The event will be an open house, with attendees invited to stop by at any point from 5:30-7:30 to chat with students and to discuss their projects. Light refreshments will be served.
