The Department of Music at Drake University is pleased to welcome saxophonist Nick May & pianist Alex Li on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Nick & Alex will be coming to Drake University to present a recital that brings focus and awareness to LGBTQ+ composers and their music, offering an immersive experience into the lives of these composers and the music that has transformed and inspired them. Additionally, this recital will detail The I Exist Project, which was founded by Nick May. Its mission is to "inspire the creation and promotion of innovative queer repertoire that celebrates the unique experiences and voices within our community, fostering greater understanding, connection, and visibility for all." This performance is free and open to the public, and the Department of Music is excited to extend the invitation to all members of the Drake University community and the Des Moines community!
