Join Art & Design Faculty members Robert Craig, Edward Kelley, Sang Lee and Neil Ward as they discuss their artistic processes and their work in the exhibition Solving Problems. Each artist will give a mini talk for about 10-15 minutes and then the audience will have time to ask questions.

The faculty of Drake University’s Art & Design program challenge our students on a regular basis to solve problems; to think critically, engage in process and creatively work through ideas. These acts, so fundamental to art making, are what center this year’s faculty exhibition. Taking this opportunity to question how one solves a problem and the artwork that results, or is made along the way, this show highlights process and active questioning. Sometimes a problem is the origin of an artwork, or a problem that occurs along the way becomes essential to the work, or the resulting work itself is still grappling with a problem. Showcasing both finished and unfinished work, the Art and Design faculty present a look into how they each approach solving problems through art.

The Anderson Gallery is open Tues-Sun from 12-4pm and open late on Thursday nights until 8pm. Admission is free and open to all. Free parking is available on 25th Street.
