The One Year Between Us is a solo exhibition by artist Jordan Ramsey Ismaiel that showcases a collection of large-scale self-portraits. The impressive group of works will be on display from February 6- March 14, 2025 in the Anderson Gallery and will begin with an artist talk and opening reception on February 6. Ramsey described the body of work as, "made during the culmination of my graduate education in Eastern Iowa and considers the insufficiency to 'move past' events which have ultimately altered my art practice. Referencing Edwin H. Blashfield’s mural, 'Westward,' (1905), commissioned by the State of Iowa for its capital building in Des Moines, these group of paintings and drawings consider the idealization and pitfalls of westward expansion as an out-dated promise for both individual and communal growth. "
