Apr 28, 2026: Faculty & Staff BUILD Class: Architectural Tour of Meredith Hall at Cowles Library

In addition to anchoring the center of Drake’s campus, Meredith Hall doesn’t look much like the university’s other historical buildings. Why is this the case? We’ll trace its planning and construction by visiting both the architectural model at Cowles Library and the building itself. The story of Meredith’s architect, commission, and design represent an important chapter in Drake’s distinctive architectural history. Facilitated by Professor Maura Lyons. May 5, 2026: Faculty & Staff BUILD Class: Sustainability Walk and Talk at Olmsted Center

Join the Sustainability Coordinator, Sydney Dvorak, on a walk around campus to learn about sustainability initiatives! We will meet at the start of the Bulldog Mile (sidewalk just southeast of the Olmsted Center). We will stop by the Sprout Garden, then head back to campus to learn about our native plantings and sustainable building initiatives. The walk will be followed by an optional discussion to talk more about sustainability on Drake’s campus. Register for all BUILD classes HERE.
